Applicants must meet the following requirements: - Have a full driving license - Enjoy caring for children - Have at least 200 hours recent practical childcare experience - Are a secondary school graduate - Speak English to a good standard - Have no criminal record - Want to spend 12 months living with an American family - Have not previously been an au pair in America To apply, complete an online application form and submit the necessary supporting materials.
As an au pair, participants take part in the day-to-day routine of their host family, experiencing life in the USA at first hand and taking part in all the family activities. Au pairs are international visitors who, on a J-1 Visitor Exchange visa, are allowed to live with an American family for 12 months and care for their children. Au pairs are in a unique position to share their culture with their host family by teaching the children songs, games and activities from their native country.
