Volunteers must be experienced professionals in their field. Traditionally, International Executive Service Corps has focused on business and industry. Increasingly, they need volunteers/consultants with expertise in specific fields, such as tourism, textile/apparel, agribusiness/food processing and nongovernmental organization development. Since 1964, their volunteers have provided business expertise to enterprises in 130 developing countries. It has earned them the well-deserved reputation of "goodwill ambassadors." Volunteer Experts (VEs) conduct many of their technical and managerial assistance projects overseas.
