Application process
To apply, applicants should 1. Select the type of project or region of the world that most interests them. 2. Select service programme dates most convenient for them. 3. Submit their application by: Calling a volunteer coordinator or filling out a secure online application or printing out a text application and send it in by mail or fax. Applicants may submit their $350 deposit by check or major credit card. 4. A "Volunteer Manual" and informational forms to complete will be sent to the volunteer. Complete and return the forms. Upon receiving the requested information and personal references, the application will be processed. 5. Renew passport, if required, and make travel arrangements. Volunteers can use their own travel agency, or find a trusted travel agent through the America Society of Travel Agents 6. Pay the balance of the U.S. tax-deductible service programme fee, due 75 days prior to departure.
