Africa & Asia Venture: Gap Year Experiences

Africa and Asia Venture offers Gap Year adventures that combine conservation or education volunteer work with adventure travel. Placements are located in various countries across Africa and Asia and now in Mexico as well. Projects include work in local schools teaching English and coaching sports, social and community work in local tribes and villages and conservation work in the bush and on the Indian Ocean. Short-term programmes are available and run 5 weeks in length. "Graduate Ventures" are also available exclusively for university graduates and are comprised of volunteers of roughly the same age.

Application process
Gap Year projects will appeal to individuals who are interested in longer term volunteer projects with a built in adventure travel component. 3-4 day comprehensive orientation is included for volunteers upon arrival to host country. Topics covered include history, culture & customs, health & welfare, teaching or community/conservation skills (as appropriate), security, safe travel and local language training.
