GIVE International Volunteer Program

Established in 2005, GIVE International is a Canadian-based charitable trust that supports and implements health, education and child development projects in East Africa. We engage in development initiatives that are reflective of the region's social, economic and cultural landscape by supporting projects that are established and/or sustained by members of the local community.

The cornerstone of GIVE International's work is providing people – both Canadians and East Africans – with the tools and opportunities they need to be engaged in relief and sustainable development initiatives.

Issues of poverty and global inequality are overwhelming for those who are directly impacted by these burdens and for those who aim to play a role in reducing these burdens for vulnerable communities. By connecting volunteers with various health, education and child development projects in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, we are empowering Canadians with the education and experience they need to shape and define their role in the international development sphere, while meeting the identified needs and challenges of beneficiary communities in East Africa.

This collaboration of cultures, minds and energy has proven to be a source of positive change for everyone involved: developing communities and projects are provided with the resources to achieve their goals – and Canadian volunteers receive a first-hand international development education.

GIVE International facilitates approximately 125 volunteer placements annually, which amounts to 18,000+ hours of volunteer service.
